Project:
I am part of the RTG ConFoBi (Conservation of Forest Biodiversity in Multiple-Use Landscapes of Central Europe), which aims at targeting studies of conservation of forest biodiversity in the Southern Black Forest in a combination of multi-scale ecologicaly, social and economical approaches.
My research focuses on Lichenology and Bryology, with a particular emphasis on epiphytic lichens and bryophytes in forest ecosystems and the main factors influencing them across multiple scales.
My primary interest is to understand how environmental drivers - related to forest management practices and climate change impacts - affect these organisms, both in terms of community composition and at the individual level. Additionally, I am focused on analyzing ecophysiological processes, including water relations, photosynthesis, and gas exchange.
